All Eastern Sierra Engineering testing personnel are Caltrans, NAQTC & ACI certified, and have extensive experience using Caltrans, ASTM and AASHTO Test Methods. Eastern Sierra Engineering’s engineers and materials testers have extensive experience providing materials testing for the FHWA, FAA, Caltrans and various California counties and cities.
Eastern Sierra Engineering maintains two permanent construction materials testing laboratories in Reno, Nevada, and Bishop, California, as well as two mobile materials testing laboratories for use in remote areas. Our Bishop office is Caltrans certified; and our Reno laboratory is AASHTO accredited, and Caltrans certified. Our laboratories are fully equipped to perform most of the testing required for transportation-related projects. This includes soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete testing. Eastern Sierra Engineering has developed and implemented a quality control program to ensure accuracy of results in materials testing, and to ensure all construction services are of the highest quality. Our employees, and particularly our laboratory personnel, are accustomed to the need for immediate and accurate test results. Our laboratories commonly perform over 40 asphalt concrete mix designs each year and have tested millions of tons of mix over the years. Dennis also serves as Radiation Safety Officer for Eastern Sierra Engineering in California and Nevada, underscoring his commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Dennis’s multifaceted expertise, swift and strategic decision-making, and dedication to quality assurance make him an indispensable leader in the construction materials testing and inspection industry.

Our engineers and materials testers provide materials testing for RTC, the City of Reno, TMWA, FHWA, FAA, NDOT, and various Nevada counties and cities. We have provided materials testing services on roadways, airfields, parks, storm water management, utility and site design projects. We have developed and implemented a quality control program to ensure accuracy of results in materials testing, and to ensure all construction services are of the highest quality. Our testing personnel are among the most qualified available and provide outstanding service. All our testing personnel are Nevada Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (NAQTC), American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Nuclear Gauge certified. We have extensive experience using NDOT, ASTM and AASHTO Test Methods and have worked on many utility and large transportation projects within northern Nevada.
We maintain two permanent construction materials testing laboratories and two mobile materials testing laboratories for use in remote areas. Our Reno laboratory is AASHTO accredited, Caltrans certified, and fully equipped to perform all testing required for water system related projects including soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete testing. Our Bishop laboratory is also Caltrans certified. Maintaining materials laboratories in Reno and Bishop provides resource sharing which significantly increases our capacity. We also have multiple individuals trained and certified in materials testing which allows for multishifts and optimizes the use of equipment.

Eastern Sierra Engineering provides special inspection by ICC certified inspectors capable of inspecting reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, structural masonry, and spray-applied fireproofing.
